Other places in the mapped area are
- "the Big Kirk" the largest church of Scotland building on the
islands. In fact most of Lerwick's churches are on the map including Baptist
and latter day saints
- The Lodberries - an particularly pretty area of the harbor front,
where the houses were actually built out into the water
- "The lanes" the oldest area of Lerwick which is now protected
under a heritage order
- Fort Charlotte, Part of Lerwick's old defenses, open to the public at all
times
- fort chip shop - my favorite chip shop
- Victoria pier - now a car park but once the main pier in lerwick where the
north boat docked
- Harbor House - now closed for refurbishment
- Welcome to Shetland sign
- Fishermen's mission building - now offices and flats but once one of the
biggest buildings operated by the mission.
- Fish market - not my choice of a sight, but it is interesting.
It is one of the largest operating fish markets
